This trimester students have chosen a fiction book to read independently for the first project of the year. They are to complete the "Plot and Response" worksheet as they go. This activity is meant to help students better understand what they're reading by summarizing and responding to events in the book.
As you read your novel, write a one-two sentence summary and a response statement for each chapter/section you read. Make sure to include the date and page number for each entry.

*a question about something you don't understand
*a reaction to something a character did or said
*an opinion about what you liked, disliked, or found interesting
*Extra copies of the handout are available in my room or by accessing a copy of the document from the online grade book.
