Reading for Next Week

The reading of the classroom novel, Taking Sides is soon coming to an end. We'll find out what happens now that Lincoln has been pulled from the basketball game between his new school, Columbus, and his former one, Franklin.

A final quiz is scheduled for Thur, 10/6. A tip to help students prepare for the quiz is to first gather and organize graded homework assignments, including vocabulary, from chapter 5-13. These can be used to review. Also, start thinking about the significance of the novel's title, Taking Sides to the main character, Lincoln.

Also, on Tuesday, students will have time in the IMC to check out another book. This time, students will pick one that is Accelerated Reader. After reading their book, students will take an Accelerated Reader quiz on the computer, a program available at our school. The quiz involves answering 10 multiple choice questions that cover the entire book. This is just one way that students can show their understanding of their book. They will practice taking an A.R. quiz by completing the one for Taking Sides on Friday in Reading class.
