Possessive Pronouns

Today the students learned about how to use possessive pronouns correctly.

Possessive pronouns show ownership. Some possessive pronouns are always used with nouns. Other possessive pronouns always stand alone.

Used before nouns: my, your, his, hers, its, our, their
Used alone: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs

Be careful not to confuse possessive pronouns that look like contractions.
its (belongs to it)
their (belongs to them)
your (belongs to you

AND

it's (it is)
they-re (they are)
you're (you are)
