Cursive Wednesday

When was the last time you wrote in cursive? This was the topic of debate in class yesteday when we discussed knowing how to write in cursive. My view is that it's important to learn how to write in this style. From there, writing in cursive or print is a personal choice. Ultimately, making sure your writing is legible, able to be read, is what matters most.

This sparked an idea from my 5th period class to institute "Cursive Wednesday." All day, student supporters and I wrote in cursive. As someone who always prints, it was an adjustment for me at first. After stepping up to the challenge, I was impressed by my new style of handwriting. It was such a success that we may make this a weekly event in class.
