Plot & Response Journal

During the first week of school, students visited the IMC and checked out a book of their choice. In reading, they will keep track of their reading by summarizing and responding to the main events of the story.

Students should bring their books everyday to all their classes. This is a great way to take advantage of any spare time during the class period.

Here’s information about the project.

Directions: As you read your novel, write a one-two sentence summary and a response statement for each chapter/section you read. Make sure to include the date and page number for each entry.

Plot Summary:
*actual events from the book

Response:
*a prediction of what will happen next
*a question about something you don't understand
*a reaction to something a character did or said
*an opinion about what you liked, disliked, or found interesting

The Plot & Response worksheet is due Fri., 9/25.
