Collage Reading Project

Students have been assigned one final Accerelated Reader book of their choice and a collage project.  Both are due on Thur, 5/24.  For those looking to improve their grades, there are two extra credit opportunities available.  A copy of the rubric is available through the ParentConnect grade book.

Collage Book Report

Directions: For your chosen Accelerated Reader book, complete the following steps to prepare your book report and to help you review for the A.R. quiz. The A.R. quiz is worth 20 points.

1) Choose 5 pictures that represent the story elements listed below. These can be drawn, from magazines, or computer-generated.
*1 picture for the setting
*1 picture or the main character
*1 picture for the plot
*1 picture for the internal or external conflict
*1 picture for the theme

2) Create a collage by arranging the pictures in an eye-catching way.

3) Include the title and author on your collage.

4) Explain how each picture relates to the story elements. These sentences are to be typed.

5) Take advantage of extra credit by turning your project in early and finding examples of literary devices. Enhance your collage by finding pictures to represent these descriptive passages.

EXTRA EXTRA!
Find examples of imagery, figurative language, and irony. You must label the literary device, include the quotation, and page number. Pictures for your collage are optional. (up to 5 pts extra credit)

Turn project in by Tue, 5/22. (2 pts extra credit)
