In preparation for the literature circle unit, we discussed in class about what we all know about disabilities. All three assigned books highlight a character who has a physical or learning diabilitity. Ultimately, I hope that students get a better understanding of the struggles that people with disabilities may face and how they are able to overcome them to live rich, full lives. Here is the list of books and the disability each character has. I am impressed by many students interest in learning more about them.
