This week, we discussed the "Power of Persuasion". We looked at ads and articles from a local newspaper and discussed the strategies people use to convince us to take an action or adopt an idea.
In language arts, students chose their position on the following issue: "Should students be given homework over winter break?" The conversations became heated when as a class, we discussed the pros and cons of each side of the argument.
Their task is to write a convincing persuasive paragraph to their teachers! I look forward to hearing what they have to say on Monday when they turn in their final paragraph.
