Argumentative Unit

This week kicks off a new unit in ELA.  Students have chosen a debatable topic that they have made a claim about.  They will then conduct research in the lab all this week.  Their task is to find supporting evidence for their claim.  All of this information will then be compiled to write an argumentative essay.  Additional project information is listed below.

*Topic choices:

• Is the value of wind power as an alternative form of energy worth the investment?
• Should students be allowed to use their cellphones during the school day?
• Should a higher tax be imposed on unhealthy foods?
• Should kids choose celebrities as role models?

*Research days in Lab 1:  5/12-5/17-Complete the online notes sheets using the Google Drive document
