To go along with our class reading of Tuck Everlasting, students picked a fantasy book of their choice. As they read, they will complete a journal to keep track of their reading and to respond to the characters and events that take place. Students are encouraged to bring their book to all their classes everyday!
All journal entries should include:
*Date for each entry and the page number (s) or chapter from your book.
*Vary your roles for each entry. Each entry should be 3-5 sentences.
ROLES
1) Palm Reader – What do you believe will happen in the future? Explain why.
2) Straight Talker – Have a conversation directly to the character and give your opinion about something he or she did.
3) Judge – Evaluate a decision made by a character. Explain why you agree or disagree with it.
4) Memory Keeper – Describe a similar experience you have had that relates to the story.
5) Artist – What visual images come to mind as you read the story? Draw these images. Include conversation bubbles or captions to explain what's happening.
